Associate Veterinarian

Position Overview

Location

Montgomery Veterinary Hospital proudly serves the Orange County, New York community. Located in the heart of the Hudson Valley, just a little over an hour outside of NYC, there are numerous places to explore and experience. Being located in the valley, you will have the opportunity to explore the famous Appalachian Trail, Delaware River where all the Bald Eagles soar, plenty of state parks with extensive hiking trails, snowboarding/skiing, kayaking and equestrian activities to name a few. The area is rich in apple orchards (the famous Angry Orchard is just down the road) and wineries (Brotherhood Winery -the oldest winery in the country along with others located all within a 20 mile radius).

Practice Overview

Founded in 1989, Montgomery Veterinary Hospital has been proud to build a legacy of commitment to deliver compassionate care while building ever lasting relationships within our community. We have renovated and restricted the hospital to state-of-the-art equipment such as digital radiology, dental suite including dental radiographs, laser therapy, ultrasound equipment, and in-house IDEXX machines. Our staff consists of passionate veterinary professionals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of each client. We have found success by fostering an environment based on strong communication, collaboration, and continued education. What You’ll Be Working On

  • Engage, communicate, and educate clients

  • Primary job functions include: assisting with daily cases, emergencies, surgeries and dentals

  • Assisting with hospital work flow

  • Grow your skill set with training, mentorship, and continuous education opportunities

Qualifications

  • Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine Degree (or equivalence) required

  • Permitted to work as a licensed Veterinarian in the state of New York required (or the ability to become licensed in the state of New York)

  • NEW GRADS WELCOME!

  • Experience working with Exotics and pocket pets or Mixed Animal is a PLUS

  • Experience working on soft tissue surgeries, dental cleanings with extractions, and internal medicine cases required

  • Demonstrates compassion for patients and clients

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask

  • Ability to collaborate and work within a team environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
